Overview

Our experienced and dynamic Director of Production will lead and grow the production arm of Tinsel. This individual will play a crucial role in building out the production vertical, developing the team, and creating templates, processes, procedures, and best practices that will ensure seamless execution across all projects. The Director of Production will also oversee the end-to-end production of experiential campaigns, ensuring flawless delivery on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

PRODUCTION LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY

  • Develop and implement scalable and efficient production processes, templates, and best practices.
  • Partner with the Executive Director to define the "Tinsel Touch" and ensure consistency across projects.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Creative on pitches and projects to align deliverables and ensure seamless execution.
  • Join sales pricing meetings to provide strategic input on production costs and feasibility, and collaborate on pitch strategy.
  • Act as a production lead during pitches and contribute to the staffing and execution of projects from a production perspective.
  • Act as a point of escalation for production leads and/or client needs.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Manage multiple experiential marketing projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, to retrospectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines, budgets, and staffing grids to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including creative, strategy, and account management, to execute projects smoothly.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the production process.
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations to rollout Worksuite and other freelancer and vendor comms.

 

TEAM & STAFFING

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner on staffing processes according to project needs– aligning with team utilization and resource allocation plans.
  • Mentor and guide production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing production team.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations and other team leads to ensure optimal resource allocation and effective project staffing.

 

VENDOR & SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT

  • Assist and oversee sourcing, selection, and management of vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Lead competitive bidding exercises, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Oversee or provide supportive oversight of logistics including shipping, fabrication, installation, and on-site setup.
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure they meet project specifications and timelines.

 

EXECUTION & QUALITY CONTROL

  • Oversee the production process from fabrication through on-site activation, ensuring efficient and safe execution.
  • Manage overall on-site operations, including local labor, permits, and logistics, to ensure smooth activations.
  • Ensure high standards of quality control throughout all stages of production and implement continuous improvement initiatives post-event.

 

CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients throughout the production process, especially on larger or key accounts, managing expectations and translating their vision into flawless execution.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clear communication at every stage.

 

BUDGET & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for cost savings, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to create and manage detailed production schedules and timelines
  • Proficiency in creating and managing comprehensive budgets and expense tracking
  • Strong skills in coordinating logistics, including transportation, accommodations, and venue management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documents and presentations
  • Ability to anticipate potential challenges and develop contingency plans
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in event planning software
  • Knowledge of event design principles and experience in creating immersive and engaging experiences
