Overview

The Market Manager for Teremana is a key field role for our client, MJUS. Reporting to the Program Director, you will lead local strategy, oversee execution, provide account support for target accounts, and own the overall performance of the on-premise sampling and special event activations within your region. You will also lead the recruitment and successful management of a team of part-time Promotional Specialists embodying the spirit of both Teremana and Tinsel Experiential. Market Managers may manage junior level full-time employees as needed in auxiliary cities within your territory.

 

You will work with internal (agency) and external (client) stakeholders at a local level to continuously improve activations as well as grow brand love with our target market and accounts on behalf of the brand. Our Market Managers also work as a team sharing best practices, local insights and collaborating cross-functionally across state lines for the growth and betterment of the program and relationship between Tinsel Experiential and Teremana. Responsibilities

ENSURE GREAT PEOPLE AND QUALITY FIELD EXECUTION

  • Recruit, hire, train and directly oversee a high-quality team of 30-50 part-time Promotional Specialists in your local market, who are educated on the client’s products, brand and activations.
  • Conduct regular training of promotional staff to ensure their knowledge on brand standards and execution guidelines.
  • Continuously provide your team with program updates, clear performance feedback and mentorship in the field.
  • Conduct regular spot checks and be present weekly at events to ensure the highest quality of execution and foster relationships with your local account universe.
  • Effectively manage performance issues in a timely manner and within Tinsel’s policies and procedures, acting with a sense of urgency.
  • Own all training and implementation of compliance measures for sampling and activation in accordance with your state and local laws.

 

CLIENT MANAGEMENT – LOCAL

  • Act as the single local daily point of contact for local client needs in your market.
  • Foster a strong relationship with local client teams, distributors and accounts showcasing Tinsel Experiential as their leading experiential agency.
  • Support critical local client/distributor meetings with presence, activation insights and showcasing your consumer engagement program as needed.
  • Own the consistent communication of weekly schedules and recapping to your local client team, as well as monthly/quarterly and annual reviews of your region for your Program Manager.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to sell Tinsel’s capabilities to the client, following up on any opportunities to make sure they are secured.

 

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Conduct regular monthly account visits to support target accounts and grow MJUS presence.
  • Lead the relationship with target accounts within your region(s), a minimum of 35 up to 75 accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with accounts growing presence, brand visibility and program awareness - supporting featured pricing and promotions whenever possible.
  • Report and recap visit activity using assigned technology in collaboration with client.
  • Collaborate with local TSM to support sales through promotional events.
  • Prospect potential new accounts with desired demographic match.

 

BUSINESS PLANNING, BUDGETING & ADMINISTRATION

  • Maintain and execute scheduling needs on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Own the integrity of all reporting including per-event recaps, weekly reporting, monthly recaps and annual strategic planning for your market.
  • Effectively and responsibly manage and communicate inventory of all assigned company and client equipment, uniforms and assets to Tinsel Corporate and Program Director.
  • Maintain promotional staff files with properly assigned paperwork
  • Complete all expenses and manage corporate credit cards and MSC (managed spend cards) in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Manage your local budget diligently for labor, billbacks, T&E and promotional allocations.
  • Maintain an accurate log of all applicable licenses.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all state rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of beverage experience preferred
  • Prior experience with recruiting part-time staff
  • Knowledge of your local market
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple schedules, keep track of meeting times, samplings, events, and other related matters, and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Skilled at multitasking with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate and schedule meetings, articulate objectives, and convey findings to stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal skills to build rapport and collaborate with colleagues, consumers, customers, event participants, clients, and accounts.
  • Effective communication skills for both in-person and remote interactions, ensuring clear and accessible communication with all participants.
  • Analytical skills to assess the progress of the work, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace
  • High moral character and social responsibility
  • Flexibility of schedule – typical working days may involve weekends and holidays with off days during the week. Local travel may be required to auxiliary markets.

How to Stand Out

  • Previous experience working for a bev-alc brand
  • Previous experience in a sales or account support role

Work Environment

  • Role requires an ability to perform sedentary work primarily involving sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds, such as meeting materials or equipment.
  • Work in indoor environments such as bars, restaurants, and clubs. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the venue and hours include nights and weekends.
  • Direct interaction with customers, consumers and venue staff to promote and provide product samples and ensure smooth execution of sampling events.
  • Working in outdoor environments such as festivals, fairs, and bar locations.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain) depending on the location.
  • Physical stamina to stand and move for long periods, and mobility to navigate different types of venues.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods and as needed to execute or prepare client activations.
